TORO representatives Oleksiy Khmara and Mykhaylo Karpluk took part in the national consultancy of the highest level ‘Processes of national development and effective aid - ways of strengthening obligations on gender equality Hana, 2008'. The event was aimed at started the dialogue between the government of Ukraine, donors and organizations of civil society in the matter of promoting gender equality in the processes on national development and effective assistance.
The event was visited both by main gender-oriented NGOs of Ukraine and deputies, representatives of cabinet of Ministers and of governmental departments. International structures were presented by UN Delegation in Ukraine, Euro Commission Mission to Ukraine, World Bank, World Work Organization, and Women Fund of UN Development in GUS countries. Around 50 participants took part in the event.
The main result of the meeting was the presentation and discussion of the Report on gender approach integration in realization of national priorities of Ukraine as well as processes of official assistance and development. The report was prepared on the results of the project "Partnership of EU and UN on gender equality with the aim of development and peace", which was implemented by the Ukrainian Delegation of the UN Women Development Fund in partnership with Euro Commission Mission to Ukraine.
