During the whole year, public monitoring of summer recreation is conducted in Kirovohrad. Kirovohrad and its 17 districts got under the scrutiny of public observers. Public monitoring of the activity of The Department of Family, Youth and Sports of Kirovohrad State Administration presupposes conducting independent observation of the whole recreation process - starting with purchase of the recreation services and finishing with evaluating the results of the recreation campaign.
TORO in assistance with activists of local communities of 17 Kirovohrad districts, which got training in the School of public monitoring, have been conducting observation for 3 months.
Though the monitoring campaign continues, it can be stated that this year recreation campaign was organized in the better way in comparison to previous years. The authorities took into consideration the majority of the recommendations of public observers and involved NGOs in the recreation campaign.
TORO in partnership with The Department of Family, Youth and Sports of Kirovohrad State Administration decided to initiate changes to the Regional Program of Children, Youth and Young Family Recreation for 2007-2013. Kirovohrad regional Council should adopt them.
Work of the public observers goes on in the framework of the project "Healthy authority - healthy we!", which is conducted in the framework of the project ‘Assistance in active participation of citizens in corruption fight in Ukraine "Hidna Ukraina" with the support of the government of Ukraine in the program of cooperation with (MCC - Millennium Challenge Corporation), company Management of Systems International (MSI), USAID.Popular Themes
