Organized crime has reached football world

By its last actions UEFA has confirmed the unconsoling conclusions of Transparency International anti corruption experts. The recent statement of international football organization opened global scale of corruption in big football. 

We will remind that German investigation authorities have disclosed a crime group, which bribed football clubs and separate players. In relation to this, UEFA officially admitted more than 200 football games in Europe to be agreed upon. Partially, these games were played in League of Champions. UEFA cast doubt on results of some games in cups of Germany, Turkey, and Switzerland.

Organized crime with the growing sport ardor buys clubs and players, organizes agreed games and contests. It has become well known to everyone that criminal heads sponsor teams; provide advertisement support for sports contests in order to “laundry” money. These were the conclusions of Transparency International experts as they presented in October of the current year results of the research “Corruption and sport: building integrity and preventing abuses.

International experts point out major reasons for the high level of corruption in the sports sphere. Among them:
• Weak management structures;
• Lack of transparency and responsibility while organizing sports events;
• Non-desire of sports officials to conduct any kinds of reforms.
